It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all Departmental and university deadlines are met. Please check the Department of Native Studies website. Graduate students in the Department of Native Studies have two annual forms to complete that maintain their standing in the program. NOTE: Failure to submit these forms will result in the denial of registration through Aurora and may result in students missing essential deadlines related to scholarships.
1) Advisor/Student Guidelines Agreement
ALL University of Manitoba Graduate students MUST complete an “Advisor/Student Guidelines Agreement” package by the end of a student’s first two years in the program The form is completed by your supervisor and can be obtained in the Native Studies office. This provides a framework for discussion between advisors and graduate students registered in a thesis or practicum program and to establish guidelines to govern their relationship. These guidelines may be revisited at any stage of the Student’s graduate program to accommodate for changes in the Student-Advisor relationship.
2) Progress Report
ALL University of Manitoba Graduate students MUST submit a progress report to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by June 1 of every year. The form is completed by your supervisor and can be located HERE.
