What to expect when you arrive at the ALC

To manage entry and exit from the building, we have made a few changes.

  • When you arrive at the Active Living Centre:

    • At your designated workout time, line up outside the South Entrance of the Active Living Centre. Physical distance markers and dividers will be present.

    • Just prior to your time, the exterior door will be open. You will proceed to the turnstile, swipe in and then you will be required to remove your outdoor footwear in this lobby area. This new initiative is to help keep cleaning focused on key areas (versus dirt and debris from outside). Footwear can be left in the cubbies or carried to the change rooms.

    • You will then have access up the Frank Kennedy stairs and/or elevator to the Active Living Centre.
  • Active Living Centre south entrance

  • What to expect for your workout:

    • Day Use Lockers: will be limited to every second one open for more space. Rented lockers will be available as usual.

    • Machines and equipment: Every other cardio machine and bench will be unavailable, and other equipment will be spaced out wherever possible.
    • Equipment Use: We are selecting and limiting the available equipment for use. Some harder to clean items will be removed from the floor (e.g. bands, bosus, foam rollers).

At the end of your workout:

    • 15 minutes prior to your workout block ending, an announcement will be made for members to finish-up and start cleaning their spaces. Thorough cleaning by our staff will take place in-between workout blocks.

    Group Fitness

    • Reduced class schedule and sizes will be implemented in order to maintain physical distancing and thorough time to clean between classes.
