Registration

T2202A Consent Hold -
The U of M requires your permission to share your student information with the Provincial and Federal Government in order to qualify for the tuition tax credit. Consent must be accepted/declined prior to registration for 2010-11. To accept or decline :

  1. Log-in to your Aurora account,
  2. go to: Enrolment & Academic Records - Declarations - Declare Consent for Release of T2202A Info.

Only students who have applied and been officially admitted to the University may register.

Registration in most undergraduate faculties and programs is completed by means of the Aurora Student system.  Many graduate students are also required to utilize Aurora Student. Please view more information on registration eligibility here.

This system can be accessed by internet only; telephone registration is no longer available. Students who live in areas without internet access should contact their faculty office for assistance.

Along with the introduction of Aurora Student, many new policies and registration procedures have been implemented. Students are encouraged to check the General Academic Regulations section of the current Calendar, and their faculty section of the current Calendar prior to registration to become familiar with these changes. Students are also encouraged to read the Steps to Registration.

Once students are ready to register they can proceed directly to the ‘Secure Area’ of Aurora Student.


Registration for Fall 2011 – Winter 2012

The Fall 2011- Winter 2012 course schedule is now available for viewing.
  • Please note: The Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface (CUSB) class schedule will not be updated until late June.  The I.H. Asper School of Business class schedule will not be updated until May 1.

Registration access times for all Fort Garry Students and Bannatyne Graduate Studies students will be available on July 4, 2011.

Registration access times for students in the Faculties listed below will be available on Thursday June 9, 2011.

Students in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, Pharmacy and Medical Rehabilitation may begin to register at 9:00 am on Monday June 13, 2011

Students in Year 3 Nursing may begin to register at 9:00 am on Monday June 20.

Students in Year 4 Nursing may begin to register at 9:00 am on Monday June 27.

  • To determine your access time, log in to Aurora Student.
    Go to: Enrolment & Academic Records>Registration>Registration Time & Status.
  • While on this page you should also check to see if:
         - your current curriculum (program) information is correct.
         - you have any Holds that will prevent registration (including Advisor Holds for students in specific programs);
         - your academic status prevents registration (e.g. academic suspension);
         - your record is not currently active due to an absence from university.
  • If you have a Hold that prevents registration, click the View Holds link at the bottom of the page to see what type of Hold has been applied.

Important Dates

  • June 8   - University 1 students may Transit to Arts or Science through Aurora Student.
    Log in to Aurora Student, go the Academic & Enrolment>Declarations> Transit
  • June 9   - Registration Times available for Bannatyne undergraduate and 3rd and 4th year students available on Aurora Student.
  • June 13 - Registration for Undergraduate Bannatyne Campus opens. 
  • July 4    - Registration Times Available on Aurora Student 
  • July 6    - Registration for President’s Scholars
  • July 11 – 15 - Registration begins for Year 1 students in University 1, Engineering, Fine Arts, Music and I.H. Apser School of Business.
  • July 18 – Aug 5 - Registration opens for returning students and new transfer students.
  • August 5 -  Unused reserved space becomes available.

Remember - Make sure you contact a student advisor:

  • If you are unsure of your course selection and program requirements
  • If you are planning to repeat a course or take an equivalent course
  • If your program requires Advisor approval – check your Hold status in Aurora Student.

Students intending to Declare or change a Major, Minor or Concentration (available for some faculties) must do so BEFORE registering for classes. Go to the Declarations menu. Declarations or changes of Major and Minor after registration for the term must be done by your faculty general office.

Science Students in Major and Honours programs must obtain written departmental approval for their course selection and deliver it to the Faculty of Science Dean's office prior to registration.

Environment, Earth and Resources students in Advanced, Major and Honours Programs must obtain written departmental approval for their course selection and deliver it to the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth and Resources Dean's office prior to registration.
