University 1 provides students with support and guidance in adjusting to university life and academic expectations, in making decisions about degree planning, and in building the necessary skills and behaviours to achieve academic and personal success. U1 academic advisors are available year round and students are encouraged to seek out information and advice at regular intervals throughout the year.
University 1 encourages parents, guardians, and other family members to be invested in their student's university experience; however, University staff and academic advisors strive to promote student independence and are bound by FIPPA and PHIA Acts to protect student confidentiality.
The resources listed below are provided to help facilitate a better understanding of the university experience so that parents, guardians, and other family members can help their student help themselves to succeed at the University of Manitoba.
