The University of Manitoba Civil Engineering program is the oldest engineering program in Western Canada. Our undergraduate program is a fully accredited program - all our graduates are eligible to become professional engineers in Canada. The program gives the opportunity to specialize in one of five major disciplines. A cooperative education option allows students to include practical work experience in their education before graduating.
Our department is committed to excellence in education and research. All our faculty have active research programs and are engaged in the practice of engineering. Faculty members often contribute to the development of engineering design standards.
The new Engineering and Information Technology Complex (EITC) has some of the best teaching facilities at the University of Manitoba with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. It features a large central atrium with a Tim Hortons outlet, a popular gathering place for students.
