BIOGRAPHY
Vice-President (Administration)
Deborah McCallum was appointed Vice-President (Administration) at the University of Manitoba in 2003. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (B.Sc.) and has spent her entire career at the University of Manitoba, beginning in 1972 as research assistant for the Vice-President (Planning and Special Assignments). She subsequently received appointments as Executive Assistant to the Vice-President (Administration); Manager, University Book Stores; Director, University Centre Services; Director, Ancillary Services and Associate Vice-President (Administration).
As Vice-President (Administration) Deborah is responsible for the administrative, financial, information technology and human resource services that support the University in achieving its mission. The University has a student enrolment of 27,476 students, an operating budget of $514,325,370 and employs 8,242 academic and support staff.
Specifically, the departments for which she is responsible include Audit Services, Fair Practices and Legal Affairs, Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Services and Technology, Physical Plant, Risk Management, Security Services, Treasury Services, and Ancillary Services (Bookstore, Food Services, Parking, Student Residences, University Centre Services, Pharmacy and Postal Outlet, Special Functions).
Deborah has been the recipient of several awards including an “Outstanding Achievement Award”; a University of Manitoba Outreach Award in recognition of her leadership role with the Pan Am Games in 1999 and was recognized by the University of Manitoba Students’ Union for “outstanding dedication to the Students of the University of Manitoba”.
