General Admission Requirements

Admission to the University of Manitoba requires successful completion of both general admission requirements that apply to all applicants, as well as program-specific requirements that depend on where you are applying from and what program(s) you are applying to.

Canadian high school student Transfer student

Students applying based on high school courses who have graduated or will be graduating from a Canadian high school curriculum.

Students who have completed previous college or university courses from another post-secondary institution.

International high school student Returning, re-admission, or continuing student

Students applying based on high school courses who have graduated or will be graduating with an international education background.

Students wishing to return to a previously attended University of Manitoba program. Students who previously applied, but did not attend the University of Manitoba.

   
Mature student Visiting student

Students over 21 years of age who do not meet the high school requirement and either have never attended another university/college or have completed less than 24 credit hours.

Students who wish to enroll in courses at the University of Manitoba with the purpose of having credit transferred to their home university/college.

   
Auditing student Special student

Students interested in taking courses for personal interest with no examinations or assignments.

Students interested in taking degree courses, but are not pursing a degree.
