The College of Rehabilitation Sciences is a college within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. The School began in 1960 and has grown steadily to what it is today. In our School there are three health care professional education programs: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Respiratory Therapy. These programs prepare students for service across the continuum of care from acute medical to chronic care; and from primary to tertiary care within health, education and social services settings. We pride ourselves on preparing highly competent and skilled professionals who can make significant contributions to the health and quality of life of citizens in our community and beyond.
Our College is also committed to making a contribution to research related to the practice of our professions and related areas. Part of this commitment is devoted to providing advanced education through the Master of Science in Rehabilitation program and in our partnership with the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, to offer a new Doctoral program in Applied Health Sciences. These programs are thesis-based programs that aim to facilitate the carrying out of research related to human function. So far, the contribution of our faculty and students is modest but growing steadily.
I invite you to further explore who we are through the medium of this website. If you require more information or have any feedback for us about this site or anything else related to our mission, I hope you will contact us.
