Canadian Section of the AOCS (CAOCS) Canadian Society of Animal Science Canadian Society for Nutritional Sciences

CAOCS has approximately 150 members from industry, academia and government with the predominance of members from the industry. CAOCS meetings have often centered on a theme, usually, but not always based on the geographic area in which the meeting was held. The 2004 meeting in Halifax had a focus on marine oils while the 2005 meeting in Saskatoon had a focus on oilseed proteins. Health and Nutrition has been and continues to be a significant component of the annual meetings.

CSAS has approximately 400 members form industry, government and academia, with university membership identified as the largest group. The mission of the CSAS is to facilitate the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in animal science for the benefit of society. The purpose of their annual meetings is to to provide opportunities for members to exchange ideas about research, teaching and extension in animal science, to promote public policy related to animal science and the industry, and to provide information on scientific issues and public policy related to the animal industries.

CSNS is a society composed of approximately 250 members and represents nutritional scientists in academia, government, industry, hospitals and research institutes. The purpose of CSNS is to promote the acquisition, facilitate the dissemination and encourage the utilization of knowledge in the science of nutrition. Thematic annual meetings are held to allow members to present their research results to their peers, to hear about the latest research data in the nutritional sciences, to participate in symposia with world renowned speakers and to interact socially and professionally with their colleagues from across Canada.
