Network Leaders

UNEVOC - Canada Director: Chris Chinien, Ph.D.

Chinien has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of technical and vocational education, namely, as an instructor in secondary and post-secondary education; in apprenticeship training; workplace education and training; research; and teacher education. He also has many years of administrative experience in business management and educational administration. He has worked with his counterparts from UNESCO and the International Labour Organization (ILO) to establish technical and vocational education programs in developing countries. Chinien has worked as a Graduate Research Associate and as a Research Specialist for a period of four years at the National Centre for Research in Vocational Education, Ohio State University, USA. Chinien also has international development experience and he has directed numerous funded and non-funded research projects involving various stakeholders and international collaborators. He has published widely in the area of occupational research, technical and vocational education, instructional system design and development and cognitive psychology.
