Rockefeller Foundation Funds AIDS Project
Stephen Moses, medical microbiology, and co-investigators Francis Plummer
and Allan Ronald, also of medical microbiology, received a three-year, $300,000
grant from The Rockefeller Foundation for a collaborative research project to
evaluate the impact of the regular routine use of chemical agents to reduce the
incidence of sexually transmitted disease and HIV infection among women sex workers
in Kenya. The project is in collaboration with the University of Nairobi and the
University of Ghent.
The Rockefeller Foundation is a philanthropic organization endowed by John
D. Rockefeller and chartered in 1913 for the well-being of people throughout
the world.
