
Financial Aid and Awards
The Financial Aid & Awards Office assists students in meeting their education costs through a variety of award and aid programs (scholarships, bursaries and government student loans). We also provide emergency loans on a very strict case by case basis and operate the University of Manitoba Food Bank (in partnership with the University of Manitoba Students' Union).

NEW 2009 -2010 - Registration and Fees:
- Tuition fees have increased for ALL students. Check fee information applicable to your program on the Registrar's Office website: umanitoba.ca/registrar for undergraduate and graduate fee information.
- 50% refund on tuition fees for one term courses has been eliminated. Refer to the Refunds page on the Registrar's Office website for details.
- Failure to pay for your courses will NOT result in de-registration/cancellation of courses in the current term.

WINTER Term Tuition is due by January 7th. It is not too late to apply for a government student loan for the year. If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident starting school in September and will be a full time student (minimum of 9 credit hours per term), you may be eligible. The Flying Officer George Finkle Memorial Bursary and Scholarship (1 bursary & 1 scholarship offered) is available for students who are members of the Regular Canadian Armed Forces or Primary Reserve (or members of the immediate family of a Regular Force member) who is resident in Manitoba or Northwestern Ontario. Hurry! The EXTENDED Deadline is: November 30, 2009.
Leader of Tomorrow entrance scholarship applications are now available. Deadline: December 1st, 2009.
UM General Bursary Applications for 2009-2010 were due on October 1st. Results will be released in mid-December. Only successful recipients will be contacted (ensure that your mailing address in Aurora Student is up-to-date and has a Winnipeg address if possible). Awards will be applied directly to fee accounts in mid-December ONLY IF YOU ARE REGISTERED FOR BOTH, FALL & WINTER TERMS, so please check your account before contacting our office. Refund cheques for tuition fee overpayments will be not be available until January, 2010.
