Financial Aid and Awards

The Financial Aid & Awards Office assists students in meeting their educational costs through a variety of award and aid programs: scholarships, bursaries and government student loans. We provide emergency loans on a very strict case-by-case basis and operate the University of Manitoba Food Bank (in partnership with UMSU).


OFFICE HOURS:  

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, Tuesday 8:30am to 7:00pm (closed weekends & public holidays)

New for Bannatyne Campus students: Financial Aid and Awards will be present on campus in January 2012.

WINTER TERM 2012 - TUITION FEE DEFERRALS - If your loan funding will not arrive in time:

If you have qualified for government student loan assistance that will cover your tuition fees, the University will allow you to defer your fees until January 31.

Important Award Opportunities 

Business Council of Manitoba Aboriginal Education Awards: The applications for the 2012-2013 academic year are now available. The Business Council offers awards to assist with the cost of tuition, books and supplies during the academic year. Each award is up to a maximum of $3000 for university and $1500 for college students. All applicants are eligible to reapply each year of their studies for a maximum of three years. Visit the Business Council of Manitoba for eligibility requirements. Deadline for the application is March 30, 2012.

R.E. Waugh 2012-2013 Scholarship - Mr. R.E. Waugh offers an annual scholarship at the University of Manitoba to encourage students, who are the children of Scotiabank employees, to pursue a post-secondary business degree at the University of Manitoba by providing them with a scholarship that covers most of their academic and room and board expenses during four years of study. Deadline: May 1, 2012
