About Us

Change Management & Project Services (CMaPS) is a department within Human Resources and is responsible for providing change management, project management (non-IT related), and process improvement services to the University community.  We work with departments on a consultative basis to help facilitate and support changes that improve the University and its community.

• Employed at the University and working in the role of Director of CMaPS since 2015
• Over 15 years of experience leading process improvement, change, and technical projects at MTS and WRHA

Heather Ayres, Improvement Specialist

Heather Ayres PhotoHeather joined the University of Manitoba in 2015 in the Faculty of Arts Dean’s Office and joined Change Management and Project Services in the fall of 2018 with a focus on Human Resources projects including the new HRIS.  She brings over 25 years of HR experience with diverse industries including government, retail, co-operative, manufacturing and education sectors where she has supported rapid growth and restructuring change efforts.  Heather’s positive approach and ability to identify unique attributes of clients and organizations supports sustainable change for client groups.  She holds her CPHR designation and is Prosci certified.  Her education includes a Bachelor of Kinesiology (University of Alberta), Diploma in Adult Education (St. Francis Xavier University) and Master in Business Administration (University of Manitoba).

Sarah Oliveira, Improvement Specialist

 

 After graduating from University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business in 2014, Sarah spent four years working in systems analysis and on project work. For Sarah, project work has sparked a fascination in the world of change and the impact it has on work culture and human psychology. She loves learning about new, innovative approaches being developed to engage and empower employees working through change. She has worked in Change Management and Project Services since June 2018 and plans to return to the Registrar’s Office in June 2019 to share the experience and knowledge she’s learned while working along side her talented peers in CMAPS.
Outside of the office, she values new experiences and connecting with family and friends. You can always expect that she has thought up a new travel experience for her and her husband.
