About University Health Service

Mission Statement

University Health Service (UHS) is the University of Manitoba’s (U of M) community health clinic providing excellence in primary care and health promotion services for its entire community.  UHS is committed to practicing a patient centered, collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to service delivery while nurturing a healthy work environment.

UHS strives to be a world-class model for effective, patient centered, collaborative, multidisciplinary primary care service enabling a U of M student, staff and faculty experience that creates opportunities for personal, family and community health and success.  A resource to the entire U of M community, UHS is an essential service supporting and facilitating the successful day to day work and well-being of a great University.


The University Health Service is a unit of the Student Affairs Division.  We are health unit consisting of family physicians (3.5 FTE), nurses (1.2 FTE) and office staff (2.7 FTE) and offer a full range of medical services including:

  • acute & minor health care problems
  • check ups
  • prenatal care
  • health and travel counselling
  • immunizations
  • health promotion programming

 

Regular Hours of Operation and Location

Monday to Friday
8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Closed daily from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

After Hours for Urgent Calls   

A physician will be available by telephone for emergencies after hours and on weekends by calling 474-8411. The doctor you speak to will be a physician from the University Health Service.

 

On Campus Emergency Calls

  • Call 555 for police and ambulance assistance. In an emergency off Campus

 

Off Campus Emergency Calls

  • Call 911 for City Police and Ambulance or proceed directly to the nearest Hospital
