Endowment Fund Committee

The College of Nursing Endowment Fund was established in August 1990 to enhance the work of the College in the pursuit of excellence in the areas of nursing education, nursing practice, and nursing research within the now College of Nursing. These pursuits contribute to the mission of the Faculty by advancing nursing knowledge and practice, and by contributing to the health and well-being of society in general.

College of Nursing Senior Financial Officer

Selection of Students:

The College of Nursing Registrar will advise undergraduate students via individual email requesting nominations for the student positions. Students will vote via confidential web based program, selecting their preferred candidates from a list of nominees.

Terms of Office:  

Each elected/appointed member shall have a 3-year term.


Quorum shall consist of the 50% of the members, one of whom shall be a student. The Chair shall count towards the quorum, but shall vote only in the event of a tie.
The Committee shall meet once each year, or at the call of the Chair.


The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations to the Dean of the College of Nursing regarding the disbursements of the annual investment income from the College Endowment Fund. The Dean may decline to authorize the funding of any project/proposal recommended by the EFAC. However, the Dean shall not authorize the funding of any project/proposal not recommended by the EFAC.

  1. Develop and review guidelines and forms for receiving and reviewing proposals for funding Receiving and reviewing proposals for funding based on established criteria.
  2. Submit recommendations on funding proposals to the Dean of the College of Nursing. 
  3. Publicize the proposals/projects funded each year (through a report to the College Council).
  4. Receive follow-up reports at a specified time from individuals/groups receiving funds from the College of Nursing Endowment Fund.
  5. Review the Terms of Reference of the EFAC every three years.


  1. Applications to the Endowment Fund will be held in confidence.
  2. Conflict of interest of the part of a committee member must be disclosed to the Chair.
  3. Administrative support regarding management of the Faculty of Nursing Endowment Fund monies shall be provided by the Senior Financial Officer College of Nursing.
  4. The Office of the Dean of the College of Nursing shall provide secretarial support to the EFAC.
