The University of Manitoba, Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery offers a strong, vibrant training experience for Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery residents. Our program accepts candidates from across Canada as well as international applicants, and is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
The fundamental education goals of our program are to train safe, competent otolaryngologists committed to patient care, lifelong development and research within the field. Resident responsibility is allocated gradually over the course of the five year program in keeping with the individual's maturity and abillities.
One of our many strengths is the committed teaching of our nine full time faculty, as well as the educational contribution from our associated part-time staff.
The clinical, administrative and research activities of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery are housed in the Health Sciences Centre. Inpatient and outpatient sites are also located at the Children's Hospital, St. Boniface General Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba, Victoria General Hospital and Misericordia Health Centre.
All major disciplines of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery are represented in our department including Pediatric Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Otology/Neurotology, Rhinology and Laryngology. Our teaching faculty continues to expand and we strive to provide an educational experience that meets the goals and objectives of our residents and our University.
