The Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, in the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM), is actively seeking an outstanding individual to fill a new full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Applicants with strengths in epigenetics and childhood diseases, and expertise in bioinformatics are encouraged to apply to Position Number 24765. Candidates should hold an MD or PhD in a biological discipline with at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral training. Candidates must show evidence of a history of research excellence, as evidenced by a strong publication record in high impact journals and the potential to secure competitive extramural peer reviewed grants; a history of mentoring; and a history of effective and productive collaboration. The position start date could be as early as February 15, 2018, or as negotiated.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program through strong collaborations with Basic as well as Clinician Scientists within and outside of our Institution. Strong linkage between the candidate’s research program and the activities of one or more research groups in CHRIM is required. In addition to leading a strong research program, the Candidate will also actively contribute to undergraduate and graduate student teaching within our Department.
