Better Together is not a conference, symposium or lecture. It is an experiential learning environment. And, everyone is welcome!

When you enter the Multi-Purpose Room in UMSU University Centre you’ll choose any spot at the round tables. The afternoon will begin with some activities to get to know those at your table. That will be your team! Then you’ll learn about design thinking and how to apply that model to real real-world campus challenges submitted by various units at the university.

On the second day, your team will continue working to develop a novel solution to your chosen challenge using design thinking. You’ll create a video to share your solution. We’ll showcase the videos in front of the units that submitted the challenges. This ensures your innovative ideas are heard! We’ll wrap up by connecting you with supports to leverage your learning for future entrepreneurial impact and share advice from entrepreneurial thinkers.

2-3 PM: Training

3 PM: Design Sprint Begins! Working in your Team, you’ll get started applying design thinking to your chosen campus challenge.

9-1 PM: Design Sprint Continues! Final team pitches due by 1 PM.

1 PM: Lunch Break

2 PM: Video Watch Party!

3 PM – Wrap Up

Faculty, staff and students from all disciplines and all levels of study are welcome to participate.
