Program Assistance in the Visual Arts assists small groups of Manitoba visual artists, collectives and not-for-profit organizations presenting and interpreting works of contemporary art to the general public, and participating in the development of Manitoba artists. This program is available to all disciplines in the visual arts, including craft, design, architecture, and the media arts. Applicants will now apply and be assessed together in one of four new categories:

Manitoba archaeologists Gord Hill and Chris Whaley will conduct the workshop to discuss and demonstrate the ancient production of stone artifacts in Manitoba. Those wanting to learn about stone tools and stone tool technology will have the opportunity to make and take home a replica tool. All people can trace their history and culture back in time to the Stone Age. Archaeologists around the world have studied stone tools and the importance that stone tool making had to the continued existence of human beings. Exploration of the coexistence between historic and modern Athens. This program is a 13 day exploration of the history, preservation and conservation issues facing the city, including lectures and visits lead by some of the world’s foremost archaeologists, architects, historians, conservators and planners who have been dealing with the problem of surveying, planning, and preserving monuments and cultural heritage in the midst of a growing modern city. The Bison Coaching Summer Institutes offer in-depth coach education that can be used towards the National Coaching Certification Program. Each institute provides 6 credit hours of coach theory embedded within experiential hands-on learning and seminar type discussion, and is infused with guest contributions from sport scholars and experts. Students must enroll for both courses in an institute (PHED 2400 & 2402 or KIN 3520 & 3530). BISON COACHING SUMMER INSTITUTES Coaching Theory & Practice – Women's Soccer PHED 2400 A01 - Coaching Theory & Practice – Women's Soccer (3 credit hours) May 2 (6:00 - 9:00 p.m.), May 3, 4, 10, 11 (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) & May 13 (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.). She is also a former assistant coach of the German U17/U16 Women's Soccer National Teams. Kirby Schepp (MEd, Coaching) has a Masters Degree in Coaching from the University of Victoria and is a certified NCCP Master Learning Facilitator. He is currently the Head Coach of the Men's Basketball team at the University of Manitoba.
