All future students who wish to begin undergraduate studies at UM in September 2025 are welcome to attend. Join us on-campus for an afternoon of exploration. Preparing for University is a come-and-go style event for future students, parents and supporters—attend what you wish, when you wish from the options below.

Check in to win a $3,000 tuition prize

Attend our in-person event on May 4, pick up an event program and scan the QR code to enter our draw for a chance to win a $3,000 tuition prize to be applied to your 2025-2026 UM tuition fees! Grade 12 students only, winner must be eventually registered as a full-time student for the 2025-2026 academic year to qualify.

Attend our 30-minute Preparing for University and Financial Planning presentations, offered throughout the event, to learn more about choosing university courses, your summer to-do list, scholarships and financial aid, and more. See schedule and times below.

Want to explore campus? 

Join current UM students for a 45-minute guided campus tour and check out the common buildings and classrooms you’ll be spending time in as a UM student. 

Or, explore on your own time using our Self-Guided Walking Tour. Residence tours will also be offered for students and families interested in living on-campus.

Information Fair

Open throughout the event from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., the Information Fair is where you’ll go to connect with representatives from your chosen academic program and to learn more about services and supports offered to students. Discover everything the UM community has to offer and get the answers to all of your questions.

Getting to Campus

Free event parking is located in Q lot, located on the north side of campus. Follow the posted signage from Q lot to UMSU University Centre to check in for the event.

Most parking lots are available to park for free on Sunday, May 4, excluding 24-hour reserved zones. Paid parking is also available in the University Centre parkade.

This online event is open to all future undergraduate students (including international students) who intend to begin their studies at UM this fall, as well as parents, supporters, and international education partners. Graduate students (Masters or PhD) are encouraged to contact their intended graduate program for more information.

How it works:

  • Register to access the Preparing for University online expo, where you can browse information booths for UM service providers and important support offices.
  • On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 login to the online event from any device between 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Central Daylight Time – check your local time zone for exact times in your region) to chat live with UM representatives and ask questions.
  • Watch live webinars offered throughout the online event for more information about choosing university courses, your summer to-do list, and more. Virtual campus tours will also be offered.
