Introduction:

For the Love of Words: Aboriginal Writers in Canada, is an international conference that will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2004 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This conference will take place at Canad Inns, Fort Garry and is hosted by the Department of Native Studies at the University of Manitoba.

The purpose of this conference is to showcase and analyze the aesthetic qualities of Aboriginal writing in Canada and bring together Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people interested in Aboriginal compositions and performances. The keynote speakers/performers invited to this conference include Jeannette Armstrong, Louise Halfe, Margo Kane, and Armand Garnet Ruffo.
