Jacobus de Voragine's Golden Legend was one of the most popular books of the Middle Ages, and was translated from Latin into many languages. This one is in German. It is a collection of the lives of the saints.

This edition is rubricated and contains one hundred and twenty-three hand-colored woodcuts. It bears the rubricator's date above the colophon: "1481. Laus Deo."
