Computer Resources and Email Services
Computers are available in the Registration Area on both the 1st and 2nd levels of University Centre for delegates to check the online program only (no ID required).

To use any computer lab or to connect your laptop to the Internet, all delegates must obtain a UM ID and password from the Microcomputer Centre, 331 University Centre. Please bring your delegate's badge with you to obtain your ID.

  • 331 University Centre hours: 8:00 - 20:00

UM IDs and passwords, 50 computers, support, laser printing and laptop connections are available in the Microcomputer Centre. Once you receive a UM ID and password you are free to use these and other computer labs around campus, including:

  • Dafoe (Tunnel) lab, located in the tunnel between Fletcher Argue and University College
  • 233 University College
  • 108, 111, 112 & 115 Machray Hall
  • Nursing Lab, 3rd Floor Helen Glass Centre for Nursing

A map of these facilities will be issued with your UM ID and password. A standard suite of software (Microsoft Office XP, web browsers and more) is available on all the computers. Support is available for the computers in the Microcomputer Centre between 8:00 and 20:00. Hours for support in other Congress computer labs will be posted.

Connecting your laptop to the Internet in computer labs

Delegates must obtain a UM ID and password and must supply their own standard network cable. Laptop connections are available in the Microcomputer Centre where staff will assist you and in the Dafoe (Tunnel) lab where instructions are posted.

Postal Services
Postal Services are available at the University Centre Pharmacy/Postal Outlet located at 111 University Centre across from the University Bookstore. The University Centre Postal Outlet sells stamps, envelopes and Express Post postage and is fully capable of handling packages of all sizes.

Postal Outlet hours during Congress are:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Saturdays May 29 and June 5: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday May 30: Noon to 4 p.m.

Fax Services
Fax Services are available through UMSU's Digital Copy Centre located in Room 118, University Centre. Delegates may send and receive faxes through this Centre. Please ensure recipient's name is on all incoming faxes. The fax number for receiving faxes is (204) 261-9384.
