Writer/Storyteller-in-Residence

 NEW WRITER/STORYTELLER IN RESIDENCE

 

 

The Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture (CCWOC) is pleased to announce its winter 2010 writer/storyteller-in-residence, ROBERTA KENNEDY.

Roberta Kennedy is a traditional Haida singer, drummer, and storyteller, and one of Canada's leading Aboriginal
performers. She has given hundreds of performances in nearly every province in Canada.  
She performs for
children and adults at festivals, schools, universities, conferences, workshops, and on TV and radio.  Roberta
is also a Dene Culture teacher and teaches the Dogrib language to primary students.

The Centre wishes to thank its outgoing fall 2009 writer/storyteller-in-residence, Jan Andrews.

 

APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

CCWOC's annual residency will bring a writer or storyteller to the University of Manitoba for one term to give public performances, speak in U of M classrooms, and offer advice on craft to U of M creative writing students. The writer/storyteller will also be enabled to work intensively on his or her own creative projects.  Writers and storytellers from anywhere in the world are welcome to apply for this position

The competition for the 2010 Writer/Storyteller-in-Residence position is now closed.

Please watch this space to learn how to apply for the 2011 Writer/Storyteller-in-Residence position.  The application process for that position is expected to begin in September 2010.
