“The graphics in this exhibition were selected from a group of Expressionist works collected by the German artist, Walter Gramatté…Generously lent from the collection of Dr. Ferdinand Eckhardt, Director Emeritus of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, they include works by members of both the Die Brucke and Der Blaue Reiter group, as well as prints by a number of artists who worked independently. This selction concentrates on both social interaction and portraiture and contains work which dates from between 1901 and 1938, the full span of time during which the Expressionists worked.”
