An opening reception happened on Wednesday 29 September, 5-8 pm, with an artist's talk at 8 pm. Mcdonald's residency took place between 29 September and 5 October, 2010.

Jillian Mcdonald shot parts of her next video during a residency at Gallery One One One. Meanwhile, her latest video Redrum was shown at the Gallery. Cliff Eyland, John Massier, Stephen Snyder and Milena Placentile have contributed essays to the online publication.
MCDONALD
Jillian Mcdonald is a Canadian artist from Winnipeg who is currently living in New York. She is Associate Professor of Fine Art at Pace University, where she also curates and co-directs the Pace Digital Gallery. She has shown her work all over North America. With roots in Winnipeg and Newfoundland, she "dreams of a snow-covered prairie and fog creeping off the ocean."

This exhibition is part of the series BLACK BOX: VIDEO PROJECTIONS AT GALLERY ONE ONE ONE, September - March 2010/11. Gallery One One One's Autumn and Winter season will be exclusively devoted to exhibitions of video projection, during which the gallery will be transformed from a white cube into a black box. Gallery One One One Director Cliff Eyland, with Prof. Alex Poruchnyk as a curatorial consultant, will curate this set of exhibitions.

Gallery One One One hours are: Noon to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Admission is free. Gallery One One One is located at the School of Art, Main Floor, FitzGerald Building, University of Manitoba Fort Garry campus, Winnipeg, MB, CANADA R3T 2N2 TEL:204 474-9322 FAX:474-7605. The FitzGerald Building is located at the University of Manitoba's Fort Garry Campus next to the University Centre. Parking is available in the Parkade behind FitzGerald Building, and at meter and ticket dispenser lots. Parking is free after 4:30 PM and on weekends. Campus map link.
