Curated by Christina Ritchie for Gallery One One One and Plug In I.C.A.

The University of Manitoba's Gallery One One One and Winnipeg's Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art hosted simultaneous exhibitions by the Canadian artist Germaine Koh which opened 30 November 2001. Curated by Christina Ritchie, director of Vancouver's Contemporary Art Gallery, Koh's double exhibition featured, among other works: an indoor rain machine that dropped tiny ball bearings from the ceiling; a lovingly maintained collection of wood picked up off urban streets; postcards that reproduced photographs of and by anonymous people; a floor's worth of plastic bottles refilled with water; and photographs that spliced together texts from urban signage.

Germaine Koh is a visual artist, self-described as "having no fixed address." She has had solo exhibitions across Canada and has also shown her work in Mexico City, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Sydney, Australia. Germaine Koh is represented by the Catriona Jeffries Gallery in Vancouver.
