 Bev Pike: Hymenal Views

Painted onto 20-foot long surfaces, mountainous bundles of clothing envelope the gallery creating a visual topography of overlapping social histories and constructions of gender.

Pike_Chill

Bev Pike has exhibited her work across Canada in solo and group exhibitions.  She has been the recipient of several senior arts grants from the Winnipeg Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council and Canada Council.  Her work has been collected by the Canada Council Art Bank, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (Toronto), the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the MacKenzie Art Gallery (Regina), the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), and Tate Modern (London).  An upcoming solo exhibition will be held at Grenfell Campus Gallery, Memorial University of Newfoundland (Corner Brook).
