FAQs About the Workload

Can I work during the two-year program?

The MOT workload is very intense over the two-year period. In first year, students are in class between four and eight hours per day. In second year, the days have fewer scheduled classes, however, students are expected to be self-directed in scheduling time for courses such as independent study and problem-based learning. Many students choose not to work during the academic portion of the year as they find they are unable to find the time to work. Students that do choose to work need to be very skilled at managing their time. (See sample schedules below.)

Can I take the program part-time?

No. Because each course is only offered once per year and they are designed to build on each other, the program must be completed full time.

Is there a distance education option?

    No.
