Learn more about Occupational Therapy

You can learn more about OT in a variety of ways … but here are some recommendations from Dr. Pamela Wener, Chair of Admission and Selection Committee at the University of Manitoba.

  1. Talk to an OT: If you don’t already know an OT, connect with the University of Manitoba Career Mentor Program.

  2. Go to the College of Rehabilitation Sciences Open House. This annual event is run by College of Rehabilitation Sciences students and highlights the professions of occupational therapy, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy. This is a great opportunity to see hands on displays of what OTs do, talk with current student in the MOT program, meet faculty, and discuss admission eligibility with the Chair of Admissions.

  3. Go to a U of M Occupational Therapy information session: An admissions representative will be at various locations throughout the year talking about Occupational Therapy and applying to the OT program.

  4. Check out OT-related websites like or

  5. Look through Career Services information on Occupational Therapy here.

  6. Read what some of our students have said about the profession of Occupational Therapy.

  7. Visit the Department of Occupational Therapy admissions page.
