Associated Research Focus: How do the attributes of the local community contribute to the development and success in science and mathematics for students?
Objectives: (1) to develop science and mathematics programs that involve members of the community; (2) evaluate their effectiveness in developing positive attitudes and motivation towards science and mathematics; and (3) to provide suggestions for developing and improving already existing outreach programs in science and mathematics in order to better reach at-risk populations.
