Dr. Alyson Mahar, an assistant professor in community health sciences at the University of Manitoba, is a medical professional whose research focuses on improving the health of Canadians vulnerable to health inequity. Dr. Mahar's research themes include cancer, health equity, health services research, and mental health. Her research specifically concentrates on cancer care disparities and intersections between cancer and mental health/addiction. As a research scientist with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy and an adjunct scientist with ICES, Dr. Mahar has received funding from CIHR and other funding agencies to complete studies in these areas. Dr. Mahar is currently accepting graduate students at the Master's and PhD levels.
