Project Progress

To date, our gene trapping pipeline has trapped
       >93,000 cell lines
       >37,000 gene sequence tags
       >19,000 genes
NorCOMM plans to deliver an additional 18,000 gene trap cell lines in the next two years.

Complementing this approach, NorCOMM will generate >500 targeted cell lines for genes not in the gene trap resource. To date our targeting pipeline has more than 866 genes in the queue, of which >300 have been annotated and have targeting vectors designed. We are in the process of ramping up our gene trap pipeline from medium to high throughput production of targeting vectors and targeted cell lines. Our pipeline is integrated with the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (WTSI) high-throughput targeting pipeline such that the status of all genes in the IKMC targeting effort can be viewed at the WTSI public website (http://www.sanger.ac.uk/htgt/welcome).
