Graduate Nursing Students Association

The Graduate Nursing Students Association (GNSA) is a student run organization. Our purpose is to offer mutual support to graduate students and to enhance the relationship and communication between graduate students and academic staff. Our goal is to represent the concerns and perspectives of graduate students in the development and implementation of programs and policies that affect the graduate nursing program.

GNSA council members serve as graduate student representatives on various committees in the College of Nursing to provide a voice for graduate students with respect to those endeavors that affect the graduate nursing program.  We also work hard to create meaningful opportunities for you to network and learn. Details regarding such events are sent out to all graduate students via email - we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities.

The GNSA has also put together some documents to supplement the formal graduate student handbook developed by the faculty. These documents are meant to be informal and offer practical support and insights from the perspective of fellow graduate students. We hope you will find them useful:

You are in the Graduate Program. . . .  Now What?

What to Expect When You're Expecting . . . To Write a Thesis!

Show Me the Money . . .  Awards, Scholarships & Fellowships!

We are always interested in hearing your successes, listening to your concerns, and learning how we can best support you. We also invite enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the GNSA council. If you have any comments or suggestions, or are interested in becoming involved in council, please contact us.
