Research summary

As a nurse practitioner scientist, Dr. Duff collaborates with interdisciplinary research teams (social work, pharmacy, rehab sciences, economics, provincial nurse leaders and federal policy analysts) to conduct research focusing on substance use, nursing education, and practice. Dr. Duff’s research of substance use, nurse education, or health human resources includes using health data linkage from administrative data, GIS geographical data visualization, developing infographics, data collection – qualitative, quantitative, and content mapping/synthesis.

Biography

Dr. Elsie Duff (she/her/hers) is an associate professor in the College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba and is a nurse practitioner. Dr. Duff has complete large and small scale projects related to nurses and nurse practitioners in Canada and Internationally. Dr. Duff currently practices as a nurse practitioner in a virtual primary care setting and is a editorial board member on The Journal for Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Duff has served as a board with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and the Nurse Practitioner Association of Manitoba.
