Zulfiquer joined as a core faculty member at the School of Business & Economics at North South University after completing his MBA from Manchester Business School in 2013. He was the first Bangladeshi to have been selected at Manchester Business School's flagship Full-time MBA Program and during his time there, he was also elected as the Vice-President of the MBA Council. Apart from teaching, Zulfiquer was also involved in various administrative functions in North South University, including acting as Faculty Advisor for Young Entrepreneurs’ Society.
In the past, Zulfiquer has been a consultant for globally reputed organizations like Graham and Brown, MoneyGram International and Musicians without Borders UK. He also has managerial experience in the financial services and international trade sectors of Bangladesh.
Working for humanity is one of his greatest passions and from a very young age, he has been locally involved with the US-headquartered charity, Lions Clubs International; he currently holds the position of Region Chairperson, District 315B4 and has received several awards in recognition of his humanitarian efforts through this non-profit organization.
Zulfiquer Ali Haider is pursuing a Doctoral Fellowship in Management at the University of Manitoba. His broad research interests include entrepreneurship, family business and strategy. Some of his projects investigate the alliance and M&A behavior of family businesses, the role of emotions in learning from entrepreneurial failures, the role of government ownership on financial constraints and performance, and the socio-natural agency perspective.
