The Department of Surgery Grand Rounds is a didactic lecture series for surgeons, nursing, fellows, residents, medical students and allied health professionals with topics reflecting the diverse spectrum in the discipline of surgery, including approaches to evidence-based clinical care, learning and research. Broad topics are presented by local, national and international speakers followed by a question/answer period. Grand Rounds is a surgery education initiative integrating the CanMEDS® roles of Medical Expert and Scholar.
The Surgery Grand Rounds & Visiting Professor Program is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.
