A 3 year old boy comes to your office for a routine check-up. At this age you routinely check visual acuity by using a picture card, patching each eye in turn. You discover that visual acuity, measured at 10 feet, is 10/15 OD, and 10/45 OS. Upon inspection of the child's eyes you see the following:
You perform a cover test, and when you cover the right eye, the left eye moves to look straight ahead. When you cover the left eye the right eye doesn't move.
