Dr. Alyson Mahar

Dr. Alyson Mahar is an epidemiologist and health services researcher. She is a Research Scientist with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences and an Adjunct Scientist with the Research Institute in Oncology and Hematology at CancerCare Manitoba.

Her program of research focuses on access and quality of healthcare using routinely collected health and social data in cancer, mental health, and veteran and military family health.

This includes addressing equity in cancer outcomes across the continuum, addressing gaps in the understanding of underfunded and high mortality cancers, studying the intersection of cancer and mental health, and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Canadian Armed Forces Veterans and military families.

Dr. Mahar is currently accepting applications from undergraduate and graduate students.
