Anesthesia Clinical Assistant Program

Clinical Assistants are allied medical professionals, qualified by advanced academic and clinical education to provide anesthetic care under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist or a physician trained in Anesthesiology and credentialed to practice the specialty in a WHRA facility. The ACA executes complementary and supplementary therapeutic interventions and monitoring tasks that allow the physician Anesthesiologist to use his or her own skills more efficiently and effectively.

ACAP is a one-year training program designed to prepare Clinical or Physician Assistants currently licensed through the College of Physician and Surgeons of Manitoba for an assisting career in the Department of Anesthesia.  For more information on how to become a Clinical Assistant click here.
