My interests in epigenetics include looking at the effects of altered DNA methylation, histone modifications and microRNA expression on associations between environmental or dietary exposures and childhood asthma and allergy development. In particular, I am interested in the relationships between second-hand smoke (pre and post-natal) and childhood asthma and allergic rhinitis development, the associations between diet and food allergy development, and the effects of stress and epigenetic differences on both of these associations.
