Research Interests

My work focuses on the geospatial modeling of the coast and ocean. Marine and coastal changes, associated with hazards like storm surge, sea-level rise/fall, erosion, tsunami, etc. are also topics that interest me. In CEOS, I am working on climate change and its resultant impact on the Canadian sub-arctic region. Dynamics of sea surface temperature, sea ice, and land-fast ice can act as an indicator of changing climate. They also control the ecosystem health and services of the coast and oceans. These factors, along with hydrodynamics (using Mike -21, Wave Watch, etc.), are my current research component to understand the Canadian subarctic water masses. My favorite research gear is Geo-informatics, which comprises of an analysis of remotely sensed satellite images mostly by using open-source Spatial language “R” and geographical information system.
