I am interested in the Arctic sea ice algal dynamics in response to physical gradients such as under-ice currents and salinity influences. I am also interested in ice algal phenology, nutrient dynamics, and taxonomic composition. Recently, I am involved in a project that examines freshwater-marine coupling in Baffin Bay and the Canadian Arctic, where I am interested in how freshwater from marine and land-terminating glaciers influence nutrient dynamics, microalgal production, and species composition.
