Dr. Bohdan Klid gave a presentation entitled: "Holodomor (1932-33) Revisited: Contemporary Research on Holodomor" in classroom D of St. Andrew's College. The presentation was attended by about twenty people.

Dr. Olena Vdovyna presented a lecture on "Ivan Ohienko and Medieval Ukrainian Studies: His Topics, Approaches and Influence" in classroom D at St. Andrew's College.

CUCS Visiting Mymka Research Scholar, Dr. Olena Vdovyna, presented a lecture on "Byzantine Roots of the Ukrainian Culture in Ivan Ohienko's (Metropolitan Ilarion's) Interpretation" at Saint Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

October 26, 2017

CUCS presented a Special Screening for the Tarnawecky Distinguished Lecture of the Multi-Award Winning Feature Documentary "Recovery Room" a story of hope, resilience and compassion in a time of war. Ms. Adriana Luhovy, the film director, gave a short presentation. The event was held at the Great Hall of St. Andrew's College and approximately forty people attended the event.

CUCS hosted a lecture by Dr. Mary Pankiw on Ukrainian Canadian Literature in classroom E of St. Andrew's College. Dr. Pankiw presented a sample of her writings and poetry. Approximately ten people attended the event.

Natalya Kharchenko presented a lecture on Linguistic Choices of Ukrainian Immigrant Families in Canada at the Great Hall of St. Andrew's College. Approximately fifteen people attended the event.

The Centre took part in the joint St. Andrew's College/ CUCS Inauguration and Awards Ceremony held at the college. A visiting Mymka Research Scholar, Dr. Olena Vdovyna, was the keynote speaker for this event and 43 awards were distributed for 2017-2018. Funds were made available from the St. Andrew's College Foundation and the Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies- University of Manitoba Endowment Funds.

To celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Ukrainians in Canada, as well as the 100th nniversary of Women’s right to vote, the Ukrainian Canadian Woman’s Council wanted to honour Ukrainian Women in Politics who have represented Manitobaat various levels.
The honorees are: Hon. Mary Ann Mihychuk, Hon. Cathy Cox, Judy Wasylycia- Leis, RosannWowchuk, Christine Melnick, and Leanne Rowat.
