This year, we asked students to talk about why cultural diversity is inspirational! How have other languages and cultures influenced your path?

UM students considered the following topics:

• How has learning a language or learning about a new culture influenced your identity or personality?
• Has it influenced or changed your academic path or your planned career path?
• Has it changed the way you view that culture?
• What new opportunities have opened up for you as a result?
• Has society’s view of that culture changed as more people have learned about it?
• Or, tell us about your story or unique experiences!
