American Literature; 19th–century medical history; feminist theory; critical animal studies.

Other Interests / Recent Undertakings:
I specialize in 19th-century American literature and have a book forthcoming with University of Massachusetts Press, titled Certain Concealments: Poe, Hawthorne, and Early 19th-Century Abortion.
I also work in the field of critical animal studies and have published book chapters and articles on meat production, animal rights, and meat-eating in literature.
I currently lead the Occupy Bartleby Collective, which is funded by the UMIH and which is working on a book-length project on Melville's "Bartleby, the Scrivener." For more information on this collective, please email me at Dana.Medoro@umanitoba.ca
