Android devices from different manufacturers and carriers will have different versions and features changing the  look and feel from device to device.

The basic information and instructions below will allow you to add your @myumanitoba.ca email account.
The screen shots are from Android version 4.2.1. 

From the home screen click the Menu button and select System Settings

Click Add Account

Select Exchange ActiveSync.  On some phones it may also be listed as Exchange or Corporate

Enter your email address and password and Press Next

Some phones ask for additional info, please enter this info.

Server name: outlook.office365.com Domain: leave blank
Username: type in your U of M email address (umnetid@myumanitoba.ca)

Some phones also may receive a Security Warning at this point, press Continue

Please Note: Choose Outlook.office365.com as the mail server.

Press OK

On this screen you will be able to set notifications and sync settings for your account. Uncheck SMS if you do not want your SMS messages in your University of Manitoba email.

Enter a name for your account (i.e. U of M Student) or leave the default which is your email address

Click Activate

Congratulations, your U of M student email account (@myumanitoba) has now been setup!
