VPN Installation and Configuration Steps for Mac

Download and install:

Mac VPN client - OS X  (installer file)

1) Run the installer package (link above)

pulse secure

2) Click Continue to install Junos Pulse


3) Click install to start the process
installation type

4) Enter your username and password


 5) Click Ok

Click OK

If you receive this notification, click Ok

click ok

6) Click Allow

Click allow

7) Click Close





Using Junos Pulse to Establish a VPN Connection on a Mac

1) Click on the Junos Pulse icon in the Mac menu bar and select Open Junos Pulse
open pulse secure

2) Click on the Plus (+) sign

3) Set connection type to Policy Secure (UAC)

Enter the Name  UofM VPN
Enter Server URL type: vpn4.cc.umanitoba.ca

NOTE: Vendors should not be using the above connection. Please use, instead: vpn.cc.umanitoba.ca

click Add


4) In the connections window, click on Connect

5) Read the User Agreement and click Proceed

6) Staff should choose Active Directory and click Connect
Students should choose General Access and click Connect

7) Authenticate with account credentials and click Connect:  Staff can use their university email address or UMNetID, Students and Vedors will need to use their university email address.

8) The Connections window will show your active U of M connection. You may click Disconnect when you wish terminate the connection.
