How to Map to Your Drives after Logging on the VPN Client Software

After you establish a connection via the VPN client software on your remote computer you will need to map to your drives to access your U of M resources.

Click on Start

Click on Computer

Click on Map Network Drive

To map your shared drive

Select the drive letter S

Type \\ad.umanitoba.ca\<your faculty or department>\shared (ie: nursing or education) in the folder field then click Finish

Next type ad\UMnetid
Then type in your U of M password
Select remember my credentials
Click OK
ok cancel


Your Shared drive is now mapped!

To map your H:\ drive

Click on Start
Click on Computer
Click on Map Network Drive

Select the drive letter H
Type \\ad.umanitoba.ca\home\<umnetid> in the folder field then press Finish

Next type ad\UMnetid
Then type in your U of M password
Select remember my credentials
Click OK

Your Home drive is now mapped

You can now open/create/modify document directly from your shared and home drive without having to download or upload content.
